Hi folks,
Ta Da! I finished my Seamstress Apron -- I love this pattern!!! The front pockets are slanted so that when you sit, the items inside won't poke you. I made it out of (a) the apple fabric was from my stash (b) the dark green was from a repurposed sheet (c) the backing and inside of pockets were from a repurposed shirt. I found the pattern
here (aka myapple.etsy.com, aka craftapple creations). I really had fun making this! There are six pockets in front, then two large ones (one of which I have my hand in= ) behind those (where I will heretofore put the instructions of the project I'm currently working on so I always know where they are!). I made some African Pants from the same green sheet which I need to hem up, and when I'm through I'll snap a pic and post that too. = } Deb

I finished my Natalya Gauntlet Wristwarmers today (there is a link to the free pdf file on this page, on the right hand side, under "free patterns"). I made the mitt version from yarn in my stash (Cascade 220). I've made several wristwarmers, and this pattern is my favorite. I learned to cable without a cable needle, which made these a really easy, fun knit. There are several sites for learning cabling without a cable needle, but this is the one that worked best for me. If you knit and have never tried cables, consider giving them a go, because they make for fun knitting.

I also wanted to share my favorite knitting how-to site knittinghelp.com -- Amy has free little videos you can watch on just about any technique you can imagine.
